Travelling into the Holiness-Glory of God in ecstatic states of prayer is a transcendence of the illusion of limitation where our here is also everywhere, our present is a passport to eternity and our self has become pure prayer in a chorus of love heard by the Beloved One. In Ecstatic Prayer, we discover the Holiness-Glory of God is the support and quintessence of all reality and worlds. When we say prayer is supernatural, we do not mean it is divorced from the Earth or our bodies, but it helps us transcends the normal limitations of self, time, and space. Ecstasy can be defined as the journeys we make from our conventional, local sense of self, space, and time into the non-local nature of reality. The quintessential meaning of prayer is the soul’s journey to and in God. Teresa passed in their rapture through the stages: “You are”, “I draw near to You” “It is not I but You who lives acts in me.” It is therefore the attraction of the divine You, resulting in union with Him, which constitutes the essence of their psychosomatic ecstasy…Valentin Tomberg, Meditations on the Tarot: A Journey into Christian Hermeticism, Letter 12: The Hanged Man Ecstasy is the going out of the soul from the domain of discursive reason, memory, and imagination-sometimes followed by the body.
